Cmode2

Cmode is a vending machine with built-in computer, display, speaker and printer. Consumers can buy cokes by showing 2D barcodes displayed on their mobile phones to Cmode vending machines.
In addition:

subscribers can make cashless purchases of standby screens, ringing melodies, and other i-appli and i-mode content. They can also print out hard copies of coupons and other items.

A flash demo is available here (click on the middle icon at the bottom of the page).

Currently, there are 1,700 Cmode vending machines installed nationwide. Cmode2 is the next generation Cmode and it accepts RFID-chipped wallet phones as well as existing 2D-barcode-based payment. Coca-cola Japan plans to deploy about 1,000 Cmode2 vending machines in Japan by the end of this year.

Cmode2 is equipped with a large display that can be used to display ads or entertaining contents. Also, the machines can price cokes in a dynamic fashion -- for example, they can be configured to lower the price of promotional items by 20 cents during lunch time. These vending machines collect purchase data for the company's CRM application. As far as I know, no one has discusssed privacy implications of these vending machines yet.
