An Electronic Tag for Your RemoteI visited Osamanoidea shop in Shinjuku, Tokyo the other day. Their sales items are wonderful collection of gizmos that are slightly more eccentric than the stuff you may find in a SkyMall catalog.

I could talk about all different kinds of stuff they sell. But, let me talk about an electronic tag product today. (Yes, I just wanted to show off the one I got.)
This tag (the yellow piece) can be attached to, for example, your tv remote. The black piece is a whistle. Make some sound with the whistle (or you can just whistle with your lips), then the tag listens to the sound and responds to it by making a different sound and also by lighting an LED.

This system may be good for some purposes -- before RFID-based solutions may come along in the future.
