QR Codes Everywhere in a Baseball StadiumYahoo Dome is a cool baseball stadium in Fukuoka, Japan. SoftBank Hawks is the home team. The team used to be owned by a retailer Daiei but since now it seems to be owned by a giant IT company, they are rolling out unique new services for fans.
First, they recently introduced Hawks IC Ticket service that allows fans to use their RFID'd wallet phones as baseball tickets. (First download a dedicated application and use it to purchase a ticket. Now your wallet phone is ready to be used as a baseball ticket -- you can just show your phone to a kiosk terminal and push a button or two. )
Another service is Kei-chan Hawks, which allows fans to watch baseball games on their 3G (FOMA) phones. At Yahoo Dome, there are now QR-code stickers pasted on the seats so you can easily access Yahoo's mobile website where you can find a link to Kei-chan Hawks service -- so just scan the code on your seat and then navigate through menus a bit then you see the live video boradcast.

[Yahoo Dome. The baseball stadium for geeks? (In my opinion, they should shut down a couple of "sports bars" in the dome and build "geek bars" instead. WiFi and electric power: yes. Verichip: I don't know.)]
