Out of the Blue? RFID Driver's License

Hmmm, I didn't know about this but, according to Livedoor News, the Japanese government plans to put RFID chips in all driver's licenses by 2008. In Saitama, Ibaragi, Hyogo, and Shimane prefectures, RFID driver's licenses will be introduced as early as January 4, 2007. They say that the "domicile by birth" info will not be printed on these RFID driver's licenses (that info is printed on current Japanese drivers linceses) in order to protect people's privacy.

The reading range is about 10 cm and they are password-protected. If you specify wrong passwords three times, your card will be inactivated so you must go to a driver's license office in order to reactivate it.

But, does anyone know what info will be stored in the RFID chip?
